Barbecue season is upon us so it’s time to start those cookouts by the pool. But when you are new to outdoor grilling, or when it’s time to replace that old grill from a few years ago, you want to be sure and choose the right grill. That’s why Khue and I have decided to review some of the top grills on the market today. Some that we’ll list here are for the larger oudoor party but others are for the basic family barbeque guy or gal.
The large family man or outdoor grill aficcionado just has to have a Caja China. This is the grill that can do it all, whether it’s rotiserie chicken or a ful baby pig. This is the barbecue that adds that special flavor. It’s the basis of every outdoor party. It’s definetly unreal as to how easy it is to roast a full 100lb pig with this roaster. The Caja China comes with 2 stainless steel racks, a marinating syringe, metal handles and even a recipe book. There are also other accesories you can get for it. Caja China is certainly one of the most well known manufacturers in the industry and this is reflected a bit in the price. Still at about $400, it is well worth it for those large pool parties, tailgating parties or outdoor shindigs.
If you are a sports fan or a student you may want something that is easy and practical. So I’m placing the Blacktop 360 in second place for this reason. It offers a cool modern design and it even has a deep fryer in the center. This is an outdoor grill that comes mostly assembled so it has an easy setup and is very sturdy and seems well built. The only slight drawback is that usage isn’t totally intuitive, because it is rather high-tech and you do need to provide a couple of double A batteries for the igniter. It offers 452 square inches of cooking space and includes some nice features like a cutting board, thermometer, 3 position cover and even a carrying bag. This one could earn 5 out of 5 rating.
This grill offers 320 square inches of grilling area which does a very good job of searing the flavors in and keeping food moist. It has a precision electric dial for temperature control, and I love the stylish design. It is an electric grill that really gets the job done.
This is a modern propane outdoor grill for your yard. It offers two stainless steel burners with a 26,500BTU per hour output that is extremely easy to clean up. The ignition system is easy to use and it’s easy to assemble.
This is the ideal gas outdoor grill, the classic system you want to use in your back yard. It is a 40,000 BTU gas grill with a neat 10,000 BTU lidded side burner. I enjoy the 480 sq inches of cooking space and the additional secondary cooking space that sort of swings away. It also offers some nice shelving for workspace and the stainless steel lid makes for convenient barbecuing action.
This is a barbeque grill that is made for the tail gater or party goer. It uses butane with 20,000 BTUs for cooking; 10,000 for each burner. It’s easy to clean and offers perfect flow and pressure. It’s a nice compact uit that can be folded up and carried which is ideal for camping trips.
Like that small, minimalistic look? Then this George Foreman fits the bill. Actually this one has a very interesting feature as it can be either a nice indoor or outdoor grill. That means you can use it throughout the year and at $94, well you just can’t beat the price for a great gas grill.
You live in an apartment and you have a very small patio on which to grill, what do you do? Well this portable tabletop propane grill will do the job for you. Made by Cuisineart, you know you can’t get much better than that. This offers 2,000 BTU burners and an easy twist start ignition. And you know Cuisinart, they have to offer some new feature for cooks, which you’ll find here to with this removable all-purpose veggie panel. If you need small then this 19x27x12 tabletop grill does the trick.
When Hi-tech and small are the way you want to go then nothing could be better than this electric veranda grill. This is a 1,650 watt grill with 196 sq. inches of cooking space. It has 5 settings; warm, low, medium and high and the removable reflector plate offers even heat distribution. The thing I like about this grill is that it’s convenient because it’s electric and super easy to clean.
